Exciting Scholarship Opportunities for 3rd and 4th Year Veterinary Students at Charles Sturt University!
Tableland Veterinary Service (TVS) is thrilled to announce a new grant program designed exclusively for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students at CSU Wagga Wagga campus. This initiative aims to support aspiring veterinarians and provide them with the chance to experience the unique opportunities available at our TVS clinics.
Through this grant, students can explore hands-on placements in our diverse and dynamic clinics while gaining insight into the exciting career opportunities TVS has to offer. Whether you’re passionate about small animals, large animals, or mixed practice, our team is here to mentor and guide you as you take the next step in your veterinary journey.

About the Grant
Value and payment of the grant
- Grant value: Up to $1,000
- Paid in one instalment to successful applicants
Eligibility Criteria
- Be enrolled full-time in the Veterinary Science degree at CSU, Wagga Wagga campus
- Expect to complete the third year of the Veterinary Science degree at the time of application
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed based on:
- Academic Achievement
- Alignment with the Core Values of Tableland Veterinary Service
- Understanding of Life in Rural and Regional Australia
Application Process
Applications must be submitted using the official application form by the deadline set by the Selection Committee.
Your application should include:
- Academic Record
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- A 500-word written statement addressing the following questions:
- What inspired you to pursue veterinary science? (20%)
- What do you think rural and regional clients expect from their veterinary clinic? (20%)
- What excites you most about your first two years in practice? (20%)
- Which TVS core value do you identify with most, and why? (40%)
- Your availability for placement at Tableland Veterinary Service
Applications without the required documentation will not be considered.
Selection Process
- Shortlist and/or interview candidates
- Make final decisions regarding the grant awardee
Conditions of the Grant
- Recipients must complete a three-week elective placement at a combination of TVS clinics.
- A written report summarizing the placement experience must be submitted to the Scholarships Office.
- If the recipient defers their studies or takes a leave of absence, they may be required to return the grant funds.
- If the placement does not proceed, funds may need to be returned, minus any non-refundable expenses, subject to approval by the Selection Panel Chair.
